Anna Iachino releases debut album Feb. 18
Anna Iachino, a Canadian poet and vocalist who has lived in Copenhagen since 2007, will be releasing her long-awaited debut album this month. A partner in the group MonkeyRat with Faroese born bassist and composer Arnold Ludvig, Anna says the album presents a musical fusion of funk, rap, spoken word, soul, hip hop, r’n’b, retro, jazz, and alternative rock music that expresses her political, social, romantic and comical views. The album’s title track summarizes her opinion of the Danish “jantelaw”.The 12-track album, produced by Tutl Records, will be launched at a release party at Mojo, on Thursday, February 18th at 6 pm. The album is already available in stores, distributed by Danacord. Tracks have been placed on the Espace Musique program on CBC Radio in Canada.
MonkeyRat’s fans have compared MonkeyRat to a cross between Skunk Anansie, Frank Zappa, Grace Jones, White Stripes and Nina Hagen. The group’s web site is: www.myspace.com/monkeyratmusic

new group for Dogs & People: Dogenhagen
There's a new meetup group specifically for dogs and their people, you can find the link here:http://www.meetup.com/Dogenhagen/
Here's the description for the group:
For dogs that have people but find that their human(s) can be a bit slow at times when it comes to important dog issues. This is especially true for expat dogs whose human does not know where to find good places to run, meet other dogs, deal with dog/human communication, find affordable dog food, toys, snacks, vet care, etc.
This group can supply opportunities for dogs and their humans to meet in amiable surroundings and do what comes naturally: sniff butt, chase sticks, balls, play games of chase and be chased, etc., etc. (all with a good supply of snacks nearby, of course).
The group is also open to humans unaccompanied by dogs. If you would like to meet various dogs and their people to discuss dog care, dog adoption and any other aspect of the dog’s life you are welcome to join us.

Looking for People from B.C.
Hello Allcanucks,My name is Robert Arseneau, I'm part of the editorial department with
BCBusiness magazine, based near Vancouver. I was hoping someone at your
organization could help us with a popular article we run each month called
Expat. We find people from British Columbia who are working in exciting
locations around the world and ask them a few questions via email about
work, life and culture in their new surroundings.
We are looking for a previous B.C. resident working in a non-diplomatic
position in Denmark for an upcoming issue of the magazine.
If someone at your office can think of a person who might like to
participate or another organization that might be able to help, please write
me back and I'll be happy to contact them. Also, feel free to forward this
email to anyone who might be interested.
If you're interested, here are a few examples of articles we've done in the
past:
